ABOUT HIMALAYAN RUTILE QUARTZ

Rutile inclusions in Himalayan quartz are significantly rarer than the more common chlorite variety. The golden needle-like crystals of titanium dioxide were trapped inside the growing quartz millions of years ago. Specimens of this size with visible rutile at this height are exceptionally scarce, and becoming harder to source as high-altitude Himalayan deposits face increasing regulation.
