A freestanding tower of polished chert breccia, its face a natural terrazzo of brick red, rose, charcoal, and pale gray fragments locked into a soft pink matrix.
Breccia like this forms when sharp pieces of jasper, quartz, and chert shatter and cement back together close to where they began, the angular edges a sign the fragments never traveled far.
Polished on the front and left raw along the back, it stands on its own as a piece of natural stone that reads like sculpture.
