Hand-carved from rainbow obsidian mined over 20 years ago in the volcanic highlands near Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. This material comes from deposits that are now largely exhausted — the kind of stone that experienced collectors recognize immediately for its depth of color and clarity of flash. Recently shaped and polished by artisan carvers in Magdalena, Mexico, where obsidian work has been a family tradition for generations.

Despite its compact size, this piece delivers. The abstract, organic form is polished to a mirror finish that reveals sweeping bands of green, violet, and blue iridescence. Every angle shows a different pattern. It sits perfectly in the palm — satisfying to hold and turn in the light — and looks equally striking displayed on a shelf or desk.
