Foitite is an uncommon iron-rich member of the tourmaline supergroup, found in lithium-poor pegmatite environments. First described in 1993, it remains relatively rare in the mineral market. The Erongo Mountains of Namibia are one of the world's premier localities for pegmatite minerals, producing exceptional tourmaline-group species prized by serious collectors.
