Angelite is the trade name for anhydrite — calcium sulfate that crystallized without water — found in its blue-grey form near Lima, Peru. It's a geological curiosity: with long exposure to moisture it slowly transforms into gypsum, a different mineral entirely.
Care: Keep angelite dry — moisture slowly alters the stone. It is soft (Mohs 3.5), so store it apart from harder jewelry.
