A rare and highly collectible Azurite Sun formation from the Malbunka Copper Mine (Gardiner Range), Northern Territory, Australia — one of the only known localities in the world producing true radial “sun” azurite growth.

This specimen features two fully developed azurite suns displaying deep electric cobalt saturation and fine, velvety crystalline texture across the surface. The intense royal-blue pigment appears almost lacquered, with natural sparkle from micro-crystalline development. The radial growth pattern forms organically circular to fan-shaped discs — a geological phenomenon unique to this locality.

Unlike common azurite clusters, Azurite Suns form as flattened radial aggregates, creating bold, graphic shapes that contrast dramatically against the pale host matrix. The color purity from Malbunka is particularly sought after by serious mineral collectors due to its density, vibrancy, and structural integrity.
