Spain

Southern Europe

From the volcanic Canary Islands to the mineral-rich mountains of Asturias and Catalonia, Spain’s geology tells a story of ancient seas, volcanic activity, and centuries of mining heritage. Known for its Fluorite, Pyrite, Celestite, and Aragonite, Spain remains one of Europe’s most iconic sources of colorful and perfectly formed crystals.

Asturias — The Fluorite Capital of Europe

The Berbes and La Collada mines in Asturias produce some of the world’s most vibrant Fluorite, often displaying stunning purple, blue, or green zoning with perfect cubic formation. Spanish Fluorite is highly prized by collectors for its transparency and color contrast.

Navajún, La Rioja — The Perfect Pyrite Cubes

Spain’s Navajún Mine is world-famous for its naturally formed cubic Pyrite crystals, so geometrically perfect they look man-made. These mirror-bright cubes form in marlstone and are prized by museums and collectors worldwide.

Aragon & Cuenca — Aragonite & Calcite Formations

Spain gave its name to Aragonite, first discovered in the Aragon region. Its intricate twinned clusters and sputnik-like sprays are found throughout central Spain, while nearby Cuenca yields striking calcite crystals and mineralized caves.

Crystal Fun Fact

The town of Navajún, home to Spain’s famous Pyrite cubes, produces crystals so geometrically precise that NASA scientists once studied them to compare with cubic mineral forms found in meteorites. Each cube forms naturally underground — no cutting or polishing required.

Founder’s Note

Collected with Intention

Every crystal begins as an encounter shaped by time and human touch. I personally source each piece, working closely with miners and artisans who handle them with care.

As a photographer and lifelong lover of design, I’m drawn to light, color, and form, the same elements that make crystals feel like natural works of art.

Each piece is photographed in natural light to honor its true texture and energy, a quiet balance of beauty, material, and meaning.

Crystal FAQ

Spain is known for Fluorite, Pyrite, Celestite, Aragonite, Quartz, and Calcite. These minerals come primarily from Asturias, La Rioja, and Aragon, regions with centuries of mining history.

Aragonite was first discovered in Spain’s Aragon region and named after it — making it a crystal uniquely tied to Spanish geology.

The best Fluorite specimens are mined in Asturias, particularly from the Berbes, La Viesca, and La Collada mines, known for their vivid colors and exceptional cubic form.

The Navajún Pyrite cubes are Spain’s most famous and instantly recognizable crystals, often considered the most perfect natural cubic formations on Earth.

Spain’s combination of volcanic, sedimentary, and marine environments produces minerals of remarkable geometry and color purity, blending natural artistry with geological precision.
