MINING REGIONS

crystals from Argentina

Capillitas Mine, Catamarca — The Home of Rhodochrosite

Nestled in the Andes, the Capillitas Mine produces the world’s finest Rhodochrosite, known for its vivid pink banding and translucent gem quality. The mine’s stalactitic formations create natural patterns resembling rose petals, earning the stone its nickname — “Inca Rose.”

Nuristan Province — Tourmaline, Kunzite & Aquamarine

The pegmatite veins of Nuristan yield radiant pink Tourmaline, Kunzite, and sky-blue Aquamarine, often forming in gem-quality crystals. This region is a cornerstone of Afghanistan’s fine-mineral trade, known for specimens that rival those of Pakistan’s Skardu Valley.

Patagonia & San Luis — Agate, Jasper & Quartz

Southern Argentina, including Patagonia and San Luis, is famous for its colorful Agates and Jaspers, shaped by volcanic ash and sedimentary layering. These stones reflect the earthy tones and raw textures of Argentina’s dramatic landscapes.

Fun Fact

The Capillitas Rhodochrosite Mine is located more than 10,000 feet above sea level and is the only known source of stalactitic Rhodochrosite in the world. Ancient Incan legends say the pink crystal formed from the blood of their ancestors, solidified into stone deep within the mountains.

Founder’s Note

Collected with Intention

Every crystal begins as an encounter shaped by time and human touch. I personally source each piece, working closely with miners and artisans who handle them with care.

As a photographer and lifelong lover of design, I’m drawn to light, color, and form, the same elements that make crystals feel like natural works of art.

Each piece is photographed in natural light to honor its true texture and energy, a quiet balance of beauty, material, and meaning.

Crystal FAQ

Argentina produces Rhodochrosite, Amethyst, Agate, Jasper, Quartz, and Fluorite. The most famous deposits are in Catamarca, Misiones, and Patagonia.

Rhodochrosite, often called the Inca Rose Stone, is unique to Argentina — particularly from the Capillitas Mine in Catamarca, known for its intense pink hues and natural banding.

The best Rhodochrosite is mined in Capillitas, high in the Andes Mountains. It’s one of the few places in the world where stalactitic Rhodochrosite forms naturally.

Rhodochrosite is Argentina’s official national gemstone, symbolizing love, passion, and emotional balance.
