MINING REGIONS

crystals from china

Hunan Province (Southern China)

One of the most mineral-rich provinces on Earth, Hunan is world-famous for producing Fluorite, Quartz, and Calcite of exceptional clarity and color. The Yaogangxian Mine and Xianghualing District have yielded museum-grade fluorite cubes with rare purple and teal zoning, making them prized by collectors worldwide.

Xinjiang Province (Northwest China)

The ancient home of Nephrite Jade, Xinjiang’s Hotan (Khotan) region has supplied jade for over 5,000 years — used by emperors, artisans, and spiritual practitioners alike. Known for its creamy white “mutton fat” jade and translucent green tones, this stone is considered a symbol of purity and virtue in Chinese culture.

Guangxi & Guizhou Provinces (Southwest China)

These subtropical regions produce spectacular Rhodochrosite, Calcite, and Pyrite from limestone-hosted deposits. The Wutong Mine in Guangxi is globally renowned for vivid pink rhodochrosite clusters and intergrown calcite crystals that rival those from Argentina

Crystal Fun Fact

The Chinese phrase for jade, “yu” (玉), once symbolized perfection itself — it was said that jade embodied the five virtues of humanity: wisdom, justice, compassion, modesty, and courage. Ancient jade carvings from Hotan are among the oldest continuously crafted gemstones on Earth.

Founder’s Note

Collected with Intention

Every crystal begins as an encounter shaped by time and human touch. I personally source each piece, working closely with miners and artisans who handle them with care.

As a photographer and lifelong lover of design, I’m drawn to light, color, and form, the same elements that make crystals feel like natural works of art.

Each piece is photographed in natural light to honor its true texture and energy, a quiet balance of beauty, material, and meaning.

Crystal FAQ

China produces Fluorite, Quartz, Jade, Calcite, Pyrite, Rhodochrosite, Hematite, and Amethyst. Hunan and Guangxi are especially famous for their vibrant mineral specimens and high-clarity crystals.

Hotan Nephrite Jade from Xinjiang is uniquely Chinese and has been revered for millennia. It is not found in gem-quality form anywhere else in the world.

High-grade Rhodochrosite from the Wutong Mine and deep-zoned Fluorite from Yaogangxian are among China’s rarest collector minerals, sought for their color intensity and crystal perfection.

Jade (Nephrite & Jadeite) is China’s official national gemstone. It has been considered the country’s spiritual stone for over 5,000 years.

China’s deposits span every major mineral group — from volcanic quartz veins to copper-rich skarns — offering a vast range of color, texture, and formation. Many mines also produce museum-grade specimens, bridging natural history and fine art.

Quartz is primarily mined in Sichuan, Guangdong, and Hunan Provinces. Hunan produces high-clarity clear quartz and smoky quartz clusters, while Sichuan’s deposits yield large, naturally polished crystals often used in energy and design collections.
