The 2026 Denver Gem & Mineral Showcase runs September 9 through 20 across multiple venues. Here's what we're looking for, how our sourcing process works, and how you can get first access to what we bring home.
What Is the Denver Gem Show?
The Denver Gem & Mineral Showcase is the second largest gem and mineral event in the world, trailing only Tucson. It's not a single show — it's a constellation of 10+ independent shows spread across venues like the National Western Complex, the Hotel Westin Westminster, and the Denver Coliseum.
The scale is hard to convey. Wholesale dealers from Madagascar, Brazil, Pakistan, Morocco, India, and dozens of other source countries set up temporary showrooms. Museum-quality specimens sit alongside affordable tumbled stones. Rare species that never make it to retail appear for a few days, then vanish into private collections.
For a crystal business like ours, Denver is where the inventory story begins. The pieces we select at the show become the new arrivals you see on the site weeks later.

What We're Sourcing This Year
Every show trip starts with a list — part strategy, part intuition. Here's what's on ours for Denver 2026:
Statement Specimens
Large amethyst geodes, cathedral-quality pieces, and display-grade clusters that anchor a room. These are the pieces interior designers and serious collectors ask for — specimens with presence, not just size.
We're also hunting for exceptional citrine cathedrals and smoky quartz clusters with natural, untreated color.
Rare & Unusual Species
Denver is where you find minerals that never make it to typical retail. We're looking for collector-grade fluorite with strong color zoning, labradorite with full-spectrum flash, and any unusual formations — phantoms, scepters, enhydros — that tell a geological story.
Pieces from specific localities (Sweetwater Mine calcite, Herkimer diamonds, Pakistani specimens) are always on the radar. These are the one-of-a-kind finds that sell within hours of listing.
Everyday Essentials Restock
The show is also where we replenish the core collection — selenite wands and bowls, rose quartz towers, black tourmaline specimens, palm stones in every mineral, and raw pieces for our crystal kits. We hand-pick every piece, even the smaller items. Quality doesn't change with price point.
How Our Sourcing Process Works
Not every crystal business sources the same way. Here's what makes our approach different:
Every piece is hand-selected. We don't buy bulk lots sight-unseen. Brittany inspects every specimen — checking for natural color (no dye, no coating), structural integrity, and the kind of visual quality that makes you stop scrolling. At a show with hundreds of thousands of stones, the vast majority don't make the cut.
Relationships matter. Many of our best finds come from suppliers we've worked with for years. They know what we're looking for and will set aside exceptional pieces before the show opens to the public. These long-term partnerships give us access to inventory that casual buyers never see.
Provenance is non-negotiable. We ask where every specimen originates — country, region, mine when possible. The crystals on our site aren't anonymous commodities. They have a place they came from, and that story matters.
